Magazine cover research

Now that our trailer is finished and  uploaded onto YouTube blogger twitter and soon Facebook we have decided to start making our magazine cover. In order to make our film magazine conventional i am going to look at existing film magazines such as empire.

Empire magazine is a well know film  magazine perfect for advertising our film. Therefore we will use the heading for 'EMPIRE' magazine for our own magazine we will be creating our own version of EMPIRE adverting our film as it is doing here for the dark night and showing  a picture of the joker.

The colour's used on the magazine help add to the feeling of the presence of the joker. The florescence green and bright pink/purple  colour is associated with the joker if you have seen the film. But it also, then allows readers who have not seen the film get a feeling about the presence of the joker, almost a fearful clown vibe about him. This is also, linked with the font used to spell the 'JOKER' which looks like it has been cut together from different news paper or magazine headings. This look is sometime associated or seen in films when a ransom note is sent so that the person does not recognize or can identify the person who is sending it. This adds to the feeling that the joker is not a nice character. When designing our magazine we could incorporate this by using dark greens black and browns as these colours are associated  with dark creepy forests. As well the heading reads 'meet the joker one-on-one with BATMAN'S new nemesis!' We could also, use this interview form in our magazine for example ' meet the new queens scream the hot new cast of the unknown' something along those lines.
